Physical remand of two accused of tax fraud case granted

FAISALABAD: Special Court of Customs Judge has granted 4-day physical remand of two accused, involved in a tax fraud case and handed them over to FBR for investigation.

A spokesman of the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Faisalabad told here Thursday that accused Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Akram, owners of a factory had fraudulently embezzled Rs.439 million of sales tax and did not deposit the tax amount in the government exchequer.

Commissioner RTO Faisalabad Zone-I Nasir Khan detected the sales tax fraud and got registered a case against the accused.

Assistant Commissioner Investigation and Prosecution Wing Afzal Malik with his team conducted a raid and arrested Arshad and Akram from General Bus Stand.

The accused were produced before the special court of customs and the judge granted four days physical remand of accused.
