JOHANNESBURG: South Africa's AB de Villiers hit the fastest century in one-day internationals on Sunday against the West Indies.

The 30-year-old South African captain needed just 31 balls to reach 100 -- five balls fewer than Corey Anderson's hundred for New Zealand against the West Indies in 2013/14.

South Africa -- 1-0 up in the series -- scored an imposing 439 for two after being sent in to bat.
