IHC conducts in-camera hearing for Lakhvi

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday conducted in-cemera hearing on plea challenging the bail matter of Zakhiur Rehman Lakhvi, the main accused of 2008 Mumbai terrorists attack and adjoured till January 14.

A one-judge bench of Justice Athar Minallah initiated in-camra hearing on petition filed by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) challenging Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi's bail.

The bail was granted by ATC on Dec 18, 2014 besides this Zakhiur Rehman Lakhvi through his counsel Advocate Rizwan Abbasi, also seeking from the court to grant bail to lakhvi in all pending cases against him.

During the course of proceeding, the Additional Attorney General (AAG) Afnan Karim Kundi submitted confidential decoments and all record of pending cases against Lakhvi before the bench.

The court after due hearing adjourned the case till January 14.

Earlier, the Supreme Court annulled an interim order of the IHC in which the high court suspended detention order of Lakhvi.

The federal government and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) filed petition in the Supreme Court on which the apex court had then referred the case to the IHC which now condect in-camera hearing on the request of federation.
