ISTANBUL: Turkey's economic growth in 2014 is expected to be around 3 percent, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said, below an official target of 3.3 percent in the country's medium-term programme.

The budget deficit is expected to be 24.5 billion lira ($10.7 billion) for the same year, Simsek told broadcaster NTV, which corresponded to 1.4pc of GDP.
