Magnitude 6.8 quake strikes off Panama

SINGAPORE: A shallow 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck in the Pacific south of the Panamanian city of David on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.

There was no immediate word on damage or casualties.

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck off Panama's Pacific coast on Dec. 26. There were no reports of damage.
