China's Consul General meets CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and the first Consul General of China in Lahore, Yu Boren, here Wednesday discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors.

During the meeting, the Chinese Consul General strongly condemned the Peshawar tragedy and expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of children and teachers.

While, the Chief Minister said that terrorists, who shed the blood of innocent children, displayed extreme barbarism and cruelty. He said that Peshawar tragedy was the worst incident of terrorism, however, due to sacrifice of the martyrs, the whole nation had now got united.

He said that National Action Plan against terrorism had been evolved with national consensus and there was no room for terrorists in Pakistan and the blood of the martyrs would not go waste and the country would be rid of the menace of terrorism. He said that China was a reliable and trustworthy friend of Pakistan and had stood by it in every hour of need.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Chinese cooperation in overcoming energy crisis in Pakistan was highly commendable. He said that a new era of friendship between the two countries had ushered in the tenure of the present leadership. Officials of the Chinese Consulate were also present.
