CM for completion of development schemes by end of this financial year

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed all Administrative Departments to expedite completion of their development work and complete 695 identified different Development schemes by the end of this financial year upto satisfaction of the masses.

He said that since Rs 48 billion have so far been released in two tranches, the planning and development department must conduct the survey and monitoring for the department wise utilization of development fund and submit the report to him within two weeks.

This he said while presiding over a meeting held here on Monday to review the pace of development work being carried out by Sindh Government under ADP 2014-15 in the province.

The Provincial Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, additional Chief Secretary P&D Muhammad Wasim, Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput and other officers attended the meeting in which the development strategy for financial year 2014-15 was prepared.

The chief minister said that out of allocated amount of Rs 14 billion required to complete 379 provincial schemes, Rs 9 billion so far have been released in this regard.

He said that Rs 7.5 billion have also been released to District Development Schemes and in addition to that 152 other category-I protected schemes are suppose to be completed by the end of this financial year with total cost of Rs 8.9 billion out of which Rs 6.2 billion have been released against these schemes, similarly 190 other schemes are also being taken into hand at estimated cost of Rs 16.6 billion under category-II schemes, for which releases will be made shortly.

The officers concerned briefed the meeting about the development schemes.
