CHRISTCHURCH: Sri Lanka were 293-5 in their second innings at stumps on the third day of the first Test on Sunday, trailing New Zealand by 10 runs in Christchurch.

Dimuth Karunaratne made 152 and Angelo Mathews was not out 53.

For New Zealand, Trent Boult has three for 62.
