RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bench, Wednesday withdrew the stay order against execution of five convicts and rejected their appeal.

The LHC had issued stay order on a petition filed in the court after black warrants of the five convicts including Ehsan Azeem, Asif Idrees, Amir Yousaf, Kamran Aslam and Umar Nadeem who are currently detained in the Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore.

The convicted were sentenced to death by a Military Court for involvement in an attack on an Army Camp in Jhelum in 2012. The attack had claimed the lives of at least seven security personnel.

Deputy Attorney General Sajid Ilyas Bhatti appeared before the court, headed by Justice Arshad Mahmood Tabasum.

The court accepted the government's appeal and withdrew the stay order about execution of the convicts.
