New car sales slow in Europe in November

16 Dec, 2014

PARIS: Car sales in Europe braked in November due to a slowdown in demand in Germany and France, the European automobile-makers' association said on Tuesday.

Sales growth slowed to 1.4 percent, making it the worst month in a year of rising sales, the ACEA said.

A total of 954,000 cars were registered in November, compared with 940,000 in the same month last year.

The November figure was a sharp slowdown compared with rises of over six percent in September and October, but growth for the year is expected to reach 5.7 percent.
