CM approves pilot project for Qarz-e-Hasna

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has granted approval to the pilot project of provision of Qarz-e-Hasna to deprived segments of the society especially owners of plots in katchi abadies for the construction of houses.

He was presiding over a high level meeting, here today. Chairman Punjab Halal Development Authority Justice (Retd.) Khalil ur Rehman Khan gave a detailed briefing on Qarz-e-Hasna Programme and feedlot fattening for the development of livestock sector.

The Chief Minister directed Chairman Planning & Development to finalize the programme of provision of Qarz-e-Hasna as soon as possible and comprehensive recommendations should be presented in this regard. It was proposed in the meeting to fix maximum limit of the loan at two lakh rupees.

Shahbaz Sharif while addressing the meeting said that raising the living standard of deprived segments of the society is the priority of the government and Punjab government has already taken solid measures for this purpose.

He said that livestock and agriculture sectors are of vital importance and economy can be strengthened through their development on solid basis.

The Chief Minister directed that attention should be paid to introducing corporate farming for livestock farmers and value addition be promoted in livestock and agriculture sector so that Pakistan could achieve a prominent status in international export market.

The meeting also discussed the programme of provision of loans to the deprived segments of the society especially owners of plots in katchi abadies besides proposals for the uplift of livestock sector.
