Royal Malaysian Navy Chief calls on Minister for Defence Production

ISLAMABAD: Admiral Ten Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar, Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain here at his National Assembly chamber on Friday.

They both discussed areas of cooperation on defence production and stressed that defence ties between the two countries need enhancement, said a press release issued here.

The Minister stressed the Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) can facilitate technical assistance and experience to SMEO to set up production units for manufacture of Infantry Weapons, Medium Artillery Ammunition, Mortar Bombs, Small Arms, Ammunition and stitching of military uniforms.

He said that training facilities can also be imparted to SMEO workforce at POF premises and both the organizations can collaborate in R&D.

He said that finished and semi-finished components for production of Artillery Ammunition can be supplied to SMEO. Both sides expressed the need to revitalize the cooperation. They also discussed Malaysian Armed and Security Force to include POF in their procurement.

At the end, the Malaysian Chief of Royal Navy Admiral Ten Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar thanked for the warm welcome by the Minister. The meeting ended with the hope of enhancement of cooperation between the two countries.
