Rehabilitation of Mangla Dam affectees top priority: Barjees Tahir

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir said on Friday that the government would leave no stone unturned for the complete rehabilitation and resettlement of Mangla Dam raising project affectees.

Talking to Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, who called on him here, the minister said that resettlement of Mangla Dam affected families was the top most priority of the government.

He said that the Committee for Implementation of Compensation Package, Mangla Dam Raising Project would meet on December 11 to review the progress for rehabilitation of Dam affectees. He said work on different mega projects announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for Azad Kashmir would soon begin.

The AJK premier on the occasion talked in detail about resettlement of affected families, provision of water and gas to Mirpur city. The minister assured to resolve all the issues of affected families.
