NA resumes debate on President's address to joint session

ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers in the National Assembly on Thursday resumed debate on the President's address to the joint session of Parliament and asked the government to follow guideline given by him.

Taking part in the discussion, Salahuddin Sheikh of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) urged the government to take more steps for abolishing of terrorism from the country.

He also appreciated Pakistan Army for taking effective action against the terrorists.

He asked the federal as well as provincial governments to take more steps for poverty alleviation, creation of job opportunities, and promotion of education.

Salahuddin said that three Members of Provincial Assembly of MQM were killed by terrorists in Karachi.

He demanded the government to arrest elements involved in the incident

He also strongly condemned killing of Dr Khalid Somroo and asked the government to arrest culprits.

The lawmaker also asked the government to further cut down the prices of petroleum products.

Member National Assembly Abdul Kahar asked the government to take steps for the ending of gas load shedding in Balochistan province.
