Sindh Govt making every effort to provide relief to drought victims

MIRPURKHAS: Divisional Commissioner, Sajjid Jamal Abro has said that Sindh government is making all efforts to provide relief aid to drought victims in Thar.

He said this in a statement issued here on Wednesday by district information office.

As many as 126790 sacks of wheat in first round, 126484 in second round and 126731 in third round have been distributed among 253580 drought-hit families so far, he added.

Aside from this, in the fourth round, 127933 sacks of wheat have been distributed among 255866 families in Thar, he added.

Apart from this, medical facilities have been provided to the victims and vaccination administered to the livestock in Thar, the Commissioner further said.

Fodder has been provided four times to 71330 livestock while 52848 rations bags have been distributed, he said.

Moreover, compensation for deaths of Rs 100,000 each is being provided to the relatives of 275 children, he said.

So far, an amount of Rs.17.4 million has been distributed as death compensation of 174 children to their relatives, he said.
