After the judgment was passed by Pakistani court, Veena Malik expressed her shock and said, “I am very upset, surprised and shocked. But we are going to fight our case in higher court and Inshallah (God willing) everything will be alright. We strongly believe and there's no substance in the case and we are innocent,” media reported.

The entire controversy erupted when Pakistan’s controversial actress visited Pakistan after her wedding and took part in a morning show with husband Asad Bashir Khan. While, the court sentenced the actress and her husband to 26 years of imprisonment over charges of blasphemy, the actress believes that nothing bad will happen to her as she has faith in the higher courts.

According to media reports, Veena malik was quoted saying, “26 years! Come on. 26 years is a lifetime. But I have faith in higher courts in Pakistan. When the final verdict comes, it will do justice to me. Nothing bad is going to happen. I have faith in Pakistan's judiciary. I have faced ups and downs in my life but I am sure that I haven’t done anything wrong”.

As source reveals that, Veena alleged that she and her husband didn’t dance to the Holy Qawwali. “There has been a lot of campaign to bring them (morning show) down. My husband and I are caught in the crossfire of a media war. To accuse us of profanity is unjust. We know how to respect our religion”.

The order against Veena and her husband has come from a special court in Pakistan. Veena will now proceed to fight it out in Pakistan’s High Court.
