SC accepts review petition against dismissal of Gas Infrastructure Development charges

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday accepted the federal government's review petition against its decision regarding dismissal of Gas Infrastructure Development charges.

The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Nasir-UL-Mulk comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Mushir Alam accepted the petition for preliminary hearing and issued notices to respondents.

During course of proceedings, Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt told the bench that the development charges tax was imposed for the development of gas infrastructure in the country and all development work was stopped due to the court decision.

The court adjourned hearing for indefinite period.
