ABU DHABI: Pakistan, who won the toss and opted to bat, were 85-0 at lunch on the opening day of the first Test against New Zealand on Sunday.

Openers Mohammad Hafeez (45) and Ahmed Shehzad (40) made a confident start on an unresponsive pitch at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Pakistan kept the same side which won the second Test by 356 runs against Australia at the same venue last week, securing a 2-0 series victory.
