CM Shahbaz Sharif happy over peace during Muharram

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif while expressing satisfaction over the arrangements for peace in Muharram, especially during the first 10 days of Ashura-e- Muharram, praised the efforts of Divisional, district administrations, police and other security agencies.

He paid tributes to them for carrying out their duties in befittingly.

Talking to provincial Home Minister Col (R) Shuja Khanzada, the Chief Minister appreciated that the divisional, district and police authorities understood sensitivity of the prevalent critical circumstances and ensured exemplary atmosphere of peace and tranquillity in nook and corner of the province.

He said Ashura processions and Majalis in all big cities were held in congenial environment while ideal atmosphere of fraternity and integrity was witnessed among all schools of thought during Muharram days.

He also credited Ulema and Zakireen for their untiring efforts which led to integrity and cohesion among all sects of Muslims throughout the province.

He also paid rich tributes to Police Jawans and said that they responded to challenges and threats well in time and even sacrificed their lives for the protection of general people.
