Slain MQM worker laid to rest

HYDERABAD: An activist of Muttahida Quomi Movement Syed Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi alias Kaka who was shot dead by some unknown motorcyclists was laid to rest here at Mir Fazal Town Graveyard on Thursday afternoon.

Hundreds of the MQM workers, friend and relatives of Syed Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi alias Kaka attended his Namaz-e-Janaza.

The members of MQM Rabita Committee Ashfaq Mangi and Shakir Ali, Incharge MQM Hyderabad Zone Naveed Shamsi, MNA Syed Waseem Hussain, MPA Sabir Qaimkhani, MPA Dilawar Qureshi and MPA Rashid Khilji also attended the funeral.

MQM leader Ashfaq Mangi talking to media persons after Namaz-e-Janaza termed the target killing of Syed Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi a conspiracy to trigger sectarian riots in Hyderabad and demanded of Sindh Government to conduct a detailed enquiry into the matter and arrest the perperators.

He said that MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has strongly criticized the target killing of Syed Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi and demanded protection of lives of MQM workers.

He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family members and prayed for the rest of departed soul in eternal peace.

Meanwhile, business and shopping cenres in Hyderabad City remained closed on Thursday following the assassination of MQM worker. No untoward incident was reported from any part of the city, a police spokesman said.
