IHC dismisses plea against PM's disqualification

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Friday dismissed a petition against Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif seeking disqualification for alleged involvement in Mehran Bank scandal.

A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui resumed hearing of a plea filed by a citizen Waheed Kamal against disqualification of the Prime Minister.

During the course of hearing, Waheed Kamal apprised the bench that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was allegedly involved in the Mehran Bank scandal and he was not eligible for the office of Chief Executive of the Country.

However, the Court dismissed the plea by declaring it non maintainable.
