MULTAN: Estranged leader of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) Javed Hashmi Thursday demanded of the National Assembly speaker to accept resignations of the PTI members as per constitution.

Speaking at a press conference here, he said neither he would withdraw from by-election of NA-149 nor resign from presidentship of the PTI as thousands of people had elected him through voting.

Responding a query, Hashmi refering to the show cause notice served to him by his party, said only some statements and interviews to the media could not become the base of any such notice.

He dispelled the impression of being an accused in Mehran Bank Scandal and said he had not taken any illegal amount throughout his life. However, he regretted that his opponents had enlisted him in the accused through a conspiracy.

Replying to a question, he said the PTI sit-in was losing its significance with the passage of time.
