ISLAMABAD: A Parliamentary Commission, having representation from all political parties, should be constituted for exploring the creation of new administrative units in the country, Dr Farooq Sattar of Mutahidda Quomi Movement (MQM) said Friday.

Speaking on a Point of Order at Joint Sitting of Parliament, he said current century was of de-centralization and we should keep pace with time.

New administrative units should be established on the basis of population. He said an independent local body system must be established in the country.

He criticised the statement of a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf (PTI) opposing the creation of more administrative units in Sindh. He walked out from the House to protest the statement.
