Govt to provide relief to flood affected families: Saira

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for National Heath Services, Regulations and Co-ordination, Saira Afzal Tarrar has said that the government would continue making every possible effort to provide relief to the flood affected families.

She said this while distributing compensation cheques among family members of flood victims. The minister said that helping flood affected people is foremost duty and the government will do everything possible for their rehabilitation.

Saira Afzal Tarrar said federal and provisional government would ensure timely assistance to the flood affected people in this hour of need. She said the government will cooperate for rehabilitation of flood affected people.

She said due to rains different rural routes and roads are blocked due to which we are facing hardship and obstacles in relief and rescue operations.

Saira Afzal Tarrar elaborated that tents are being provided to the flood affected people of Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian. They are being given commodities and edibles while free medicines and treatment are also being provided to the flood affected people of the said areas.

She said crops of rice, cotton and sugar canes have been ruined by floods in large areas however the government will leave no stone unturned in helping the farmers.
