Rehman appreciates Altaf's decision to withdraw law-makers' resignations

KARACHI: A leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Senator A. Rehman Malik has appreciated the decision of Muttahida Qaumi Movement's chief Altaf Hussain about withdrawing the resignations of the party's elected representatives.

According to a statement issued here on Monday, Senator Rehman Malik called MQM's International Secretariat and talked to Altaf Hussain.

The two leaders discussed overall political situation of the country, devastation caused by torrential rains and floods and other issues.

Malik thanked Altaf Hussain for withdrawing the resignation letters of MQM members of the National Assembly. He termed it a good decision.

He added that political crisis could have deepened if Muttahida Qaumi Movement had not taken the decision to withdraw resignations.

He formally extended an invitation to MQM to take part in the dialogue process with the parties which were staging sit-ins.

Altaf Hussain told Rehman Malik that he was making efforts from the beginning that political crisis should be resolved through dialogue.

He appealed to the Sindh Government to take effective measures to protect valuable lives from torrential rains and expected heavy flood.
