Democratic forces united to safeguard parliament: Abid Sher

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali Wednesday congratulated all the democratic forces for safeguarding democracy and the parliament.

Talking to media persons here at the Parliament House, he said that the joint sitting of the parliament conveys a clear-cut message to all anti democratic forces that no one would be allowed to derail democracy.

Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi's speech on the floor of the house, he said that later's will to back constitution was commendable.

He said that it was not only the voice of a single political party but the joint call of the parliament.

Replying to a question, the minister said that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain was also favoring democracy.

Abid Sher Ali assured that the government would ensure implementing the joint resolution that would be adopted at the end of the joint sitting in its true letter and spirit.
