Motorcyclists use helmet for safety: CTO

RAWALPINDI: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Khurrum Shahbaz Janbaz on Monday said that motorcyclists must use helmet for their own safety.

Talking to APP, he said that strict action would be taken against the violators and motorcycles would be impounded besides imposing heavy fine on them. In past, many fatal accidents had been reported in which many precious lives were lost. He directed the wardens to take action without any discrimination.

He pointed out that juvenile drivers drive rashly and is another cause which put the other's life in danger also. He said that fatal accidents took place due to the driving of under age drivers who are not aware of traffic rules and regulations of road.

City Traffic Police has also launched a comprehensive campaign against the juvenile drivers here.

He said that strict action will be taken against juvanile drivers adding that their vehicles will also be impounded without any discrimination.

CTO urged parents that they should not hand over the keys of the vehicles to the children until they get license of driving. He directed sector incharge and traffic wardens not to spare the juvenile and register cases all of them and confiscate their vehicles in relevant police stations.
