Cattle market at Sohrab Goth soon

KARACHI: The cattle market at Karachi's Sohrab Goth would start functioning soon. All sacrificial animals entering the cattle mandi will be vaccinated to protect them from diseases, Administrator Sohrab Goth Maweshi Mandi, Rana Imran said.

In a statement on Friday, he said that arrangements are in full swing to start Sohrab Goth Maweshi Mandi on stipulated time while police and rangers will take care of the security issues.

He further said that as many as 27 blocks will be set up along with all financial facilities including ATMs, two bank branches and high security arrangements under police and rangers.

He said heavy machineries are being utilised while more than one thousand searchlights, separate toilets for ladies and gents and mosques will also be established.

The contract of Cattle Market (Maweshi Mandi) has been awarded to Riaz & Co. He further said that we are committed to facilitate the citizens with best services this year at Cattle Market on Super Highway to purchase sacrificial animals for Eid-ul-Azha.

Management's security staff along with law enforcing agencies will take charge of the security in the parking zones.

Proper water supply for animals and water sprinkling with regular intervals will resolve the dust problems and level the land surface.

He said banking facilities for citizens and cattle merchant/ sellers will provide them convenience in financial transactions.

Proper lighting arrangement will turn the night into day. He further said that beauty contest of animals and stage walk contest of animal will also be arranged. Meanwhile, cattle merchants around the country have expressed their satisfaction over the arrangement of the cattle market, the statement said.
