First PIA Hajj flight leaves for Jeddah from BKIA

PESHAWAR: The first special Hajj flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) carrying 323 intending pilgrims left Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) here for Jeddah on Friday morning.

According to Hajj directorate, a total of 24400 intending pilgrims will be airlifted to Hajjaz-e-Muqadas from Peshawar. Twenty five scheduled PIA Special Hajj flights and other Airlines will airlift the intending pilgrims.

Saudi Airlines has resumed its flights to airlift intending pilgrims as well as passengers. The Saudi Airlines and other international airlines had suspended scheduled flights following an attack by militants on PIA flight near Peshawar some two months back.

Emirates and Saudi Air Lines have resumed its flights now.
