Saudi Airlines resumes flights at BKIA

PESHAWAR: The Saudi Airlines has resumed its flight operations from Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) here Thursday after a gap of nearly two months when shots were fired on a PIA flight heading towards the runway for landing.

After resumption, the first flight of Saudi Airlines from Riyadh landed at BKIA at 12:40p.m and left for Jeddah to carry 293 intending Hajj pilgrims.

The spokesman for Civil Aviation Authority said that it was also expected that Etihad Airways may also resume its operations from September 1 as its deadline of suspension of flights till August 31 would tire out.

It merits to mention here that Saudi Airlines and Etihad Airways had suspended its flights operations from BKIA after shots were fired at a PIA 756 flight plane from Budhber area here on June 24 last that left a woman dead and other crew members injured.
