Religious ministry received 127,586 Hajj applications: NA told

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Khalil George Thursday informed the National Assembly that Ministry had received 127,586 Hajj applications during current year.

Reply during Question Hour in the House, Parliamentary Secretary said the government had adopted 'first come and first got' policy.

Later, parliamentary Secretary of National Food Security and Research Rajib Ali Baloch said the government was taking several steps to increase the per-acre yield of agriculture crops during the last five years and to control the import of substandard agricultural medicines and seeds.

He said that seeds of different crops are being imported in the country under Seed Truth-in-Labeling Rules, 1991.

He said only quality seeds are allowed to import, he said adding sub-standard seeds are not allowed to be distributed in the country, he added.
