Four Coca-Cola trucks burned in Mexico attack

CHILPANCINGO: Assailants have torched four Coca-Cola trucks in a southwestern Mexico region beset by drug gang violence, authorities said Tuesday.

The Guerrero state prosecutor's office said it had launched an investigation to find those responsible for Monday's attack in the Santo Nino community, part of the Arcelia municipality.

The arson took place in a region known as Tierra Caliente, which straddles Guerrero and the neighboring state of Michoacan.

Both states are plagued by drug cartels known to threaten local businesses that refuse to pay extortion rackets.

The local Coca-Cola distributor declined to comment.
