Pakistani designer to showcase traditional Pakistani floral prints in ‘Lakme fashion week’

Pakistani designer Zara Shahjahan who is making her debut in one of a biggest fashion week this year will showcase vintage floral prints of Pakistan.

According to media reports she said, “We are known for floral (designs) and that is precisely what we are sticking to for Lakme. It is a soft blend of vintage floral prints with traditional embellishments infused with western silhouettes.”

Lakme fashion week is schedule to be held from August 20 to August 24.

Shahjahan will be representing Pakistan and will showcase Pakistani style on Indian ramp. The designer thinks that both the countries had a tremendous growth in fashion industry and Pakistan should also be recognised for this talent.

She said, “India has a more established industry, but I feel that Pakistani fashion has experienced multilateral growth in the past decade. In terms of retail, aesthetics, fashion showcases, etc, we have grown considerably,” media reported.

For her collection Shahjahan along with her team is working with soft colour palette with pastels. She is also expecting some of the Pakistani celebrity to be present at the time of launch.
