SOUTHAMPTON: England, after winning the toss, reached 78 for one against India at lunch on the first day of the third Test at Southampton on Sunday.

Alastair Cook, the England captain, was 48 not out and Gary Ballance four not out.

India lead the five-match series 1-0.
