Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V CMA CGM Corneillo, C.V Posen and M.T Theresa Mars carrying containers and palm oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday.

Meanwhile four more ships with containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 64% on Wednesday where ten ships namely C.V CMA CGM Corneille, C.V Posen, C.V Maersk Ngami, C.V Maersk Kingston, M.T Thore Breeze, M.V Anna Maria, M.V Arundel Castel, M.T Feng Hai-35, M.T Theresa Mars and M.T Quetta were occupied at PQA berths to load/ off laod containers, cement, iron ore, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 165,814 tonnes, comprises 116,994 tonnes imports and 48,820 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,084 containers (TEUs) (1,278 imports and 1,806 exports TEUs) were handled at the port.

Three ships, container vessels 'Posen' and 'Maersk Kingston' and oil tanker 'Quetta' sailed out to sea on Thursday morning. While two more ships, container vessel 'CMA CGM Corneillo' and edible oil carrier 'Feng Hai-35' are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Four ships C.V Saigon Express, C.V Marth Schulle, C.V Tabae and M.T Karachi carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to take berths to Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
