Formation of electoral reforms committee lauded

ISLAMABAD: Political leaders and analysts have lauded formation of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms as step in the right direction.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, they expressed the confidence that the Committee would succeed in removing drawbacks of the electoral system through parliamentary mechanism.

Former Deputy Speaker and leader of the PPP Faisal Karim Kundi said it augurs well to find solutions to the problems through collective will.

ANP leader Ilyas Bilour said PTI is hammering the issue of alleged electoral rigging and formation of the Parliamentary Committee amounts to progress on the issue.

Senator Daud Khan Achakzai said parties having no representation in the Parliament can agitate issues outside but those in the Parliament should raise them on the floor of the two houses.

Prominent analyst Rasul Bakhsh Rais said formation of the Parliamentary Committee at the initiative of the Prime Minister is appreciable.
