Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships C.V CMA CGM Strauss and M.T Chemroad Vega carrying containers and palm oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday, 16th July.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port of 36% on Wednesday where five ships namely C.V CMA CGM Strauss, M.T Chemroad Vega, M.T Autaurus, M.T Lahore, M.V Anna Maria are currently occupying berths to load/offlaod containers, palm oil, furnace oil and fertilizer respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 86,570 tonnes comprises 77,070 tonnes imports and 9,500 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,200 containers (TEUs) (700 imports and 500 exports TEUs) were handled at the Prot.

Departures: Oil tanker 'Lahore' sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships C.V CMA CGM strauss and M.T Autourus are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Arrival Schedule: Five ships C.V Hungo Schulte, C.V New Delhi Express, M.T Ardmcre Centurion, M.T Norags Orinda and M.T Khuran carrying containers, palm oil, chemicals and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Thursday, 17th July-2014.
