Major portion of Kashmir Highway opened for transport

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) had entered into the final phase of mega project of widening Kashmir Highway as the maximum portion of highway has been opened for transport.

The construction of five lanes of both sides of highway from Golra Mor to Peshawar Mor has been completed.

An official of CDA told APP, that road lights of Kashmir Highway had been made functional and land marking was being carried out.

He said that authority had directed to plant saplings along roadside after ensuring cleaning of 24 feet wide strip, saying that Rs. 9 million would be cost for it.

He said that now the construction work of a bridge was underway and would be completed as soon as possible.

He said that Member Administration of CDA had played key role to expedite the construction work of Kashmir Highway.

The project was stalled for many years during previous regime, he added.

He said that the authority had ensured maximum development work on the project in six month as compare to progress of last three years.
