30 Jun, 2014

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned hearing of petitions against Haj quota allotment till July 4.

Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan was hearing the petitions filed by Muhammad Arif Idrees and tour operators challenging Haj policy-2014.

As proceedings started, a deputy attorney general submitting a translated copy of agreement between Pakistani and Saudi governments on Haj quota allotment contended that the quota was allocated to government scheme and Haj Group organisers under it.

The court observed that, in the existance of an agreement, how court could interfere in policy matters.

The court further observed that the agreement had clearly defined numbers of Hujjaj under government scheme and Haj Group organisers.
