Justice Kh Imtiaz Ahmad to take oath as LHC CJ on Tuesday

LAHORE: Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad will take oath as Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday at Governor's House, here.

According to a LHC press release, the ceremony will be held at 10:30 am and Governor Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar will administer the oath.

Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad will be the 42nd Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court.

Justice Imtiaz was born on March 30, 1953 in Pind Dadan Khan, District Jhelum. He passed matriculation examination from Government High School, Pind Dadan Khan and did his Graduation from Gordon College, Rawalpindi.

After LLB Degree from Baha-ud-Din Zakriya University, Multan, he was enrolled as Advocate in 1980 and started practice as an Advocate. He was appointed as Additional District & Sessions Judge in 1992 and promoted as District & Sessions Judge in 2000 and served as such till September 14, 2009. Justice Imtiaz was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Lahore High Court on September 15, 2009 and took oath as a permanent Judge on September 5, 2011.
