CJ to chair Law and Justice Commission meeting tomorrow

ISLAMABAD:Chief Justice of Pakistan/Chairman, Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani, will chair the meeting of the commission in the Supreme Court Branch Registry, Lahore on Saturday (tomorrow).

The meeting will be attended by the Members (Ex-office) of the Commission Salman Aslam Butt, Attorney General for Pakistan, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Chief Justice, Federal Shariat Court, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, High Court of Balochistan, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Justice Mabool Baqar, Chief Justice , High Court of Sindh, Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi, Chief Justice, Islamabad High Court, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, Secretary, Law Justice and Human Rights Division. Other Members of the Commission namely, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, Former Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice (R) Ghulam Rabbani former, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice (R) Abdul Karim Khan Kundi, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Abid Hassan Minto, Senior Advocte, Supreme Court of Pakistan and Ms. Khawar Mumtaz, Chairperson, National Commission on the Status of Women will also attend the meeting.

The Commission will consider Law Reform Proposals for amendment in various statues, particularly Family Laws and Procedural Laws to bring them in conformity with the changing needs of the society and to improve the administration of justice in the country.
