No shortcut for Imran to come into power: Sana

20 May, 2014

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday PTI Chairman Imran Khan would not succeed in his efforts to come into power through shortcut.

Talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly, he said Imran Khan had become a tool in the hands of un-democratic forces.

Use of religious sentiments and provocative remarks by some media houses for their business purposes was harmful to journalism and the society, he added.

To a question about electoral reforms, he said legislation over the Election Commission was not in the jurisdiction of Punjab Assembly. The National Assembly was the right forum for the purpose.

Rana Sanaullah said all national institutions firmly believed in the supremacy of Constitution and democracy in the country. The government was fully committed to foil nefarious designs against the state institutions, he added.

The minister said those predicting about government's dismissal were serving the mindset of dictatorship and such elements would fail in their designs against the democracy.
