NAB arrests two officials on charges of misuse of authority

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Monday arrested Muhammad Azam, an official of the office of Deputy Settlement Commissioner Peshawar and Muhammad Aslam, Private Person on charges of alleged misuse of authority.

According to a NAB statement here, NAB (KP) have arrested accused Muhammad Azam, an official of the Office of Deputy Settlement Commissioner Peshawar and Muhammad Aslam, Private Person, who fraudulently issued/attested fake record thus illegally allotting precious plot in Risalpur Cantt Nowshera.

It merits mentioning here that the case was referred by the Peshawar High Court with direction to fix criminal responsibility involved in misuse of authority.

Taking cognizance of the above referred case, an inquiry was authorized against the accused persons, which has been upgraded to investigation. An FIR has also been registered.

During the investigation of allotment of 4 Kanal Plot survey No. 186 Risalpur Cantt: Nowshera by Muhammad Azam Settlement Deptt Peshawar, Muhammad Aslam Private Person and Military Estate Office Peshawar, incriminating evidence has come on record to establish that subject accused in league and connivance of other accused persons got prepared bogus/fake file of plot in question in favour of Mohd Aslam. Investigation is under process and further connecting evidences will be extracted during interrogation.
