Sindh CS directs to expedite work on Karachi Circular Railway project

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana on Thursday asked the Sindh Secretary Transport to expedite work on the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project in view of the transport problem being faced by the people.

He advised the officials of the Board of Revenue, Karachi Administration and Finance Department to coordinate with Transport department and Karachi Urban Transport Company (KUTC) to ensure the expeditious pace of development work on KCR project.

He was presiding over a meeting on KCR project at his office here, said a statement.

He categorically noted that all issues must be got resolved by improving liaison amongst the relevant nation building departments.

Sajjad Saleem Hotiana also emphasized upon removal of all the encroachments resisting the KCR track.

The CS Sindh also sought report on the issues regarding KCR project from the Managing Director KCR within a week.

Secretary Industries Shazia Rizvi, Secretary Finance Suhail Rajput Secretary Transport Tuaha Farooqi and Additional Commissioner-I, Karachi Muhammad Aslam Khoso and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
