Govt committed to eradicate polio: Saira

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Health Services and Regulation, Saira Afzal Tarar has said that the government is committed to eradicate polio in all parts of the country.

She said there is a plan to set up vaccination counters at the airports to facilitate the passengers travelling abroad.

Talking to television channel, she said recent recommendations of the world health organization (WHO) that passengers from different countries including Pakistan should get properly vaccinated before travelling abroad.

The minister said that the recommendations and suggestions would be discussed in a meeting so that the problem could be addressed in an appropriate manner.

She said that all out efforts would be made to ensure polio vaccination facility to the passengers, adding that steps are also being taken to wipe out the crippling disease from the country in a befitting manner.
