Power shortfall further surges to 2,700 MW

ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country again surged to 2,700 MW as the total generation on Wednesday was recorded at 11,300 MW against the demand of 14,000 MW at 1200 hours.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 3,690 MW, Thermal 1,780 and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 5,830 MW.

Meanwhile, surge in power shortfall forced the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to observe 8-10 hour load-shedding in its region including the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
