Polling underway in PS-35 Larkana-I, PK-86 Swat

ISLAMABAD: Polling is in progress for the by- elections of Sindh Assembly constituency PS-35 (Larkana-I) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly PK-86 Swat on Thursday.

Preparations for today's by-elections in the city's constituency PS-35, Larkana-1, have been completed,a private news channel reported.

Public holiday has been announced for today across the district. Meantime, the Intermediate examinations scheduled for today, have been delayed. The new date of the exam papers is May 5.

Election Commission has finalized the arrangements for the by- polls. SP headquarters Ibrar Hussain led a flag march in the city area of Baqrani in the run up to today's elections for provincial assembly seat.

It should be mentioned here that the seat vacated after the demise of PPP's Altaf Hussain Unar.

Polling will continue till 5 p.m. without any interval.

In PS-35 Larkana-I, the total registered voters are 118,816 out of which 56458 are female voters. In all, 118 polling stations have been set up for the purpose in Bakrani, Dokri and Larkana Talukas of Larkana district.
