Musharraf case: court dismisses plea against prosecutor

ISLAMABAD: The Special Court hearing Article-6 Case against Former President Pervez Musharraf on Friday rejected his plea against the appointment of prosecutor Akram Sheikh.

The court headed by Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court declared the defence plea as inadmissible and ordered the Akram Shaikh to continue his arguments.

Registrar of the Court, while announcing the decision on the petition said that the Islamabad High Court in its verdict had declared the appointment notification of the prosecutor as valid.

The defence had challenged the appointment of chief prosecutor Akram Shaikh. The court had heard the arguments of the defence and prosecution and reserved its verdict over the plea for March 20.

Pervez Musharraf's counsel Anwar Mansoor had challenged the appointment of Akram Sheikh as prosecutor in the case.
