According to the Press Trust of India an activist has lodged a complaint in the magistrate's court against Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan for spreading superstitions and false beliefs.

The complaint was filed in the wake of a recent TV commercial of health drink Complan, in which Bachchan has appeared as a ghost, the role he played in his ‘Bhoothnath’ film.

Activist Hemant Patil first went with his complaint to a police station in Bandra, however, after being refused he reportedly proceeded to the court.

Press Trust of India quoted Patil’s lawyer as saying, “the food-product company has come out with a 45-second advertisement on the issue without publishing any disclaimer before or after the broadcast.”

Magistrate Sita Kulkarni has scheduled a hearing on April 18th.
