CM's committee considers proposals to celebrate Pakistan Day

LAHORE: Chief Minister, Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a high level committee headed by Provincial Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar in order to celebrate Pakistan Day in a befitting manner, commemorate the innumerable sacrifices offered during Tehrik-e-Pakistan and freedom movement.

The first meeting of the committee was held here Thursday. Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Minister for Industries and Commerce Ch. Muhammad Shafiq, Secretary Schools Education Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, Additional Secretary Information Fazal Abbas Rana, Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister Shahid Iqbal and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

During the meeting, proposals were presented for celebrations of Pakistan Day across the province at district level. Some of the suggestions included exhibition of photographs regarding Pakistan Movement,national songs competitions,plays on freedom movement and Kalam-e-Iqbal.

Provincial Minister Ashfaq said 23rd March calls for commemorating the ideological and practical struggle of Muslim League and the message of national harmony and unity must be promoted at all levels. Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and Minister Industries Ch. Muhammad Shafiq presented recommendations for celebrating Pakistan Day befittingly.

A sub-committee was constituted during the meeting which would apprize of pace of progress in this regard.
